Chapter 27 - Today I Become A Man

Carson has aged up well.  But he is a little inexperienced when it comes to the ladies.  I know that I need a heir to take my place when I go to the big Pixel Parlour in the sky and he will need one after him.

So that means he needs a partner.

Go get 'em cowboy!

"I have no idea what they are talking about....  I've gotta say something.."

"Nope. Nope, they weren't talking about underpants!!"

"MEXICan... wa..v...e......erm"

"Give it!  Give it back!  Give me my potato!  You're such a meanie."

It appears that my son is a dork.

However, his lady interest has an interest in the unusual and decides to give him a chance.  Apparently his dorkiness is endearing...

"She likes me.  I'm a stud!"

They actually have grown very close.

He took her on a date to the park just a couple of days ago.

Tried out some of his moves..

"Did you... just... 'cooeee'!?"

"What!? Don does it all the time!?"

"mwwwwwaaahhhh!"

Apparently this girl loves the cheesey!

Carson even managed to get up the nerve to give her a commitment ring that he had bought.  She seemed a little under enthusiastic about it but accepted it all the same.

"It sure is shiny!"

Chapter 26 - Summer's on the Prowl

"It's not I don't LIKE you, it's just, y'know, the whole being Death thing..."

Although the death of the Doc hit Summer very hard her brain is not large enough for the really big emotions.  So, she quickly set about finding herself a new man.  In fact she found herself one at Doc's death...

But apparently he had work commitments that were just too strict.

Tobias doesn't spend much time locked up in his room anymore.  In fact he reinstated the door.  I think he is starting to integrate well back into 'normal', but somethings are going to take some getting used to.

"I'm just getting my cereal.  No dead guy to see here..."

Summer has taken a shine to Tobias. After her rejection by Death (ouch that's gotta hurt) she has been on the prowl.  Tobias is not so sure and prefers to keep his distance.

"SO... how do feel about intra-house relationships?  You know, new ones?"

In the end Summer settled on the maid..

Chapter 25 - Death. It's Contagious

It's been a sad time in our household.  I am struggling to find the humour.  Death is like that, turns out it isn't as amusing when it's permanent.

Erik was the first to go.  To be honest he didn't last much longer than a couple of days.  Summer tried everything to keep him around.  But even with their new found friendship, and odd romance thing, Death was having none of it this time.

"Shoo girl.  You bother me"

The next on Death's list was my beautiful Pawl.  Only a few days after Erik.  Death was incredibly callous this time, pausing to take a snapshot on his simPad of my gorgeous guy, prostrate on the kitchen floor.

I had seen Summer in action so I gave it my best grieving widow and Death once again took pity on me.  Pawl was returned to me.

"His last words were, "The state of this house!  It'll be the death of me!"

But not for long, only a few hours later after publishing his final novel.  "Death and How I Dodged It".  Pawl passed away.  Again.  I was at work and no one else felt the need to beg for his revival.

He's gone.  He's actually gone.

Chapter 24 - An Easter Party

"I have arrived.  And it appears everyone is in bed!"

Easter has grown up so quickly!  We almost didn't have enough time to throw her a party.  But we managed to pull one together at the last minute and actually, quite a few people came.  Summer is ditzily adorable and has acres of friends and admirers.

Unfortunately for Easter her birthday was the scene of tragedy.  Amidst all the excitement it became to much for her now elderly father.  And he passed away.

Death is apparently a spectator sport in this neighbourhood.

"Ack... ack....gurgle....erghhhh..hhhhh"
"Thunk"

As you can imagine Summer and Easter are devastated.  We aren't sure what to do.  Dying at a party can really put a dampener on the whole event, Tobias (who came out of his room for Easter's party) and I are of single mind (and body!!), we need to do something to save this party.  But it is awkward.  We can all feel the presence of Death, as if he were standing right behind us.

"Please.  Please...pretty please! Please.  Please with knobs on!!"

In the end, with a courage I would never have expected, it is Summer who saves the day.  She approaches the Harbinger of Demise, who politely puts away his simPad, and begs him? her? it!? to give Erik (that's the Doc's name! I really should get to know my housemates!) just a little more time.  And that taking someone away during their kids birthday party is in seriously poor taste!  And that he should be ashamed!

Apparently her pleading and reasoning hit home and Grim decides to give Erik another chance at life...

"I shall grant you extra time in this world through the powers I have and have been given to me.  Know, however, that when I come for you again, there will be no more chances.

The gift I give you today comes at a price, a price you MUST be willing to pay!

I shall require you to pertain for me......
                                                                   CAKE!!"

"(and a decent slice, not one of those end bits with all the frosting.  I hate frosting.  Well, I LIKE it but not when that's all there is, you know what I mean.  So, like something from the middle?  And a thick slice so you can pick it up without it folding over and breaking.  I hate it when it does that!)"

"Ok.  There    you    go.  Cake."

It turns out that under all that doom, gloom and misty floating.  Death is not a bad dude.  I guess it's just a job, someone's gotta do it.  He hangs out at the party and he and Summer really hit it off.

"The weirdest thing I have EVER done!"

After the party was long over and even Death had decided to call it a night, I was heading to bed when I looked out the window.  It appears that the neighbourhood is against resurrection and, although they had witnessed it with their own eyes (and the Doc was sitting behind them eating cake).  The continued to mourn at his death site.

They stayed for 2 DAYS!!  And when they did finally leave, they all came through the back door and marched through the house!  What is that about?

Chapter 23 - To Find A Lemon

Summer needs help.   No I mean she actually needs help.  Physical help.  She is still struggling with her cooking career.  She looks like she's going to work with 'a full meter' but she never gets promoted.   It's really bumming her out.  She still spends HOURS in the kitchen, whipping up what I think are amazing meals.  Day and night.  It's really washing her out.  And there is nothing worse than a washed out Summer!

I have decided that the only way I can help her is to try and provide her with an amazing array of fruits, veggies and herbs to aid in her cuisine. Our fruit garden is pretty rubbish to be honest.  We own one apple tree.

I decided to get us some lemons.

I set off to the desert, because as we all know lemons love to grow in the desert...

"I fear this tree does not fulfil my current needs."

"I shall bide my time.  It can't take that long to grow a tree, surely!"

"This feels eerily familiar.....*flashbacks!*"

"So that's why I never catch anything!  I need that bitchin' ensemble!"

"Well, it's big.  But not big enough!"

"Bah! I'll just take a cutting and get my graft on!  I've been waiting ALL day!!"

Chapter 22 - In The Name of Relaxation

"The ground is leaking"

Summer and I decided to celebrate our motherhood by going to the Spa that was recently built in town.  Nope, no idea either.  Sssspaaaaaaaaaahhh, doesn't even sound like a real word.  It really is an odd looking building, nice enough in a futuristic kind of way but definitely doesn't fit in with the surrounding area.  Someone will have to take that in hand..

"Centred mind.  Centred body"

The first thing we tried was a spot of yoghurt, which I thought was a food but.. hey ho.  We chose a mat each and tried to follow the woman in front.  It was almost impossible.  I always thought that standing up was easy but this really opened my eyes.

"I'll carry on when you guys get sorted"

I have to admit that I think Summer was getting on a lot better with the yoghurt than I was but in the end, after her second trip to the ground she decided to go and try something else.  I decided to focus on just looking at my feet, without following on to join them on the mat.

"I have mud up my....!!"

Summer decided that she would try a mud bath.  I took one look and 'no thank you'.  If I want to sit in mud I'll go home and get the hose out!  But at least if she gets hungry those cucumbers will give her a healthy and nutritious snack!

"This. Is. Just. Not. Fair!"

I determined to persevere with the yoghurt and so headed back to the studio just as a class was starting.

A....yoga class!?  It's called YOGA!  But I've been calling it.... Well, at least that makes a little more sense.

Although, Yoga... Isn't that the little troll thing in Star Wars?  May the Stretch be with you!

I took one look at the toned butts before me and decided that this was definitely not for me and went off to see what else the Spa had in store.

"I'm in public and I'm wearing a towel!!"

In the hall I found an unattended tray of fizzy orange stuff.  I shall be having one of those then.  oooo...whizzy!

"Now this is Spa-riffic!"

At the end of the hall there was a series of small rooms with little beds in them.  A suave gentleman asked me to lie face down on the bed while he proceeded to poke, prod and pummel at my ample fleshy bits!

I have to admit that it was very, very relaxing.

When I got home I felt completely different.  I mean I felt really different.  Even my clothes didn't feel the same.  I must have looked different too, everyone was staring at me.  A day of relaxation is obviously something I need more often.

"I would recommend the pummelling..."

"... yes... yes, I would."
